Eagle Engine Company 2 organized at black-BFort and Griswold.

1828

New firehouse for Protection Number 1 at black-ABates and East Larned.

1830

Wolverine Engine Company 3 organized at black-CRandolph and Atwater.

Rescue Hook and Ladder and Axe Company organized. Housed at black-ABates and East Larned.

1834

Lafayette Engine Company 4 organized at black-DWayne and Congress.

1836

New firehouse for Eagle Engine Company 2 at black-BFort and Griswold.

1845

Phoenix Engine Company 5 organized at black-EClifford and Griswold.

1846

Michigan Engine Company 6 organized black-FLarned between St Antoine and Hastings.

1847

Michigan Engine Company 6 renamed to Alert Engine Company 6.

1848

Wolverine Engine Company 3 relocated to black-GLarned and Brush. Disbanded in 1860.

1849

Union Engine Company 7 organized at black-HRiopelle and Larned.

Mechanics Engine Company 8 organized at black-JThird between Lafayette and Howard.

1850

Alert Engine Company 6 renamed to Rough and Ready Engine Company 6.

Relief Hook and Ladder Company 2 organized at black-KWashington and Larned.

1852

Relief Hook and Ladder Company 2 disbanded.

1855

Phoenix Engine Company 5 renamed Washington Engine Company 5.

Rough and Ready Engine Company 6 renamed Neptune Engine Company 6.

Fighting between companies forces Common Council to disband current fire companies and form eight new ones.

1856

New station for Protection Engine Company 1 and Hurlbut Hose at black-KWayne and Larned. First Fire Department Headquarters. Adjacent to quarters of Rescue Hook and Ladder Company 1.

Detroit Engine Company 9 organized at black-LGratiot between Beaubien and St Antoine.

1857

Operative Engine Company 10 organized at black-MOrchard (later Elizabeth) between 5th and 6th.

Hamtramck Spouters Number 11 organized at black-NEast Jefferson and St Aubin.

New firehouse for Eagle Engine Company 2 at black-PLarned and St Antoine.

Woodbridge Engine Company 12 organized at black-QFort and Thompson (later 12th).

1860

Delivery of first steam fire engine and first fire horses. Lafayette Engine Company 1 organized at black-RWayne between Larned and Congress.
